Petrol price to rise 27c on December 2

THE retail prices of 93 octane and 95 octane petrol will lift by 27 cents a litre on December 2 after remaining unchanged on November 4 and after declines of 39 and 40 cents respectively the month before, according to the Department of Energy.
Diesel prices will increase, with 0.05% sulphur up 25 cents a litre and 0.005% sulphur up 26 cents per litre.
Wholesale paraffin increases by 29 cents and illuminating paraffin by 39 cents per litre.
Petrol in Gauteng will costs 792 cents a litre from 765 cents before, and it is 769 cents at the coast from 742 cents before.
During the period under review, the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin increased.
The average rand/US dollar exchange rate weakened when compared to the previous period. The average rand/US dollar exchange rate for the period 30 October 2009 to 26 November 2009 was 7.5722 compared with 7.4988 during the previous period.
