Njabulo Ngubane to head up M&A for Sub-Saharan Africa, says JPMorgan

Ngubane joined JP Morgan’s Sub-Saharan Africa investment banking team in 2018 and has more than 13 years of experience in the industry

US banking giant JPMorgan has appointed Njabulo Ngubane as head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) for Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).

Ngubane will report to Dwayne Lysaght and Guillermo Baygual, the co-heads of M&A in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Regionally, he will report to Kevin Latter, JPMorgan’s senior country officer for SSA.

“Njabulo has been key in the growth of our investment banking business during his four years with the firm,” said Latter.

“His extensive market knowledge and experience highlight the firm’s focus on offering our clients innovative ideas and solutions. His appointment demonstrates the firm’s ongoing commitment to expanding our business and team in the SSA region.”

Ngubane joined JPMorgan’s Sub-Saharan Africa investment banking team in 2018 and has more than 13 years of experience in the industry having previously worked at Deutsche Bank SA within the corporate finance and M&A team. He holds a bachelor of business science honours degree in economics from the University of Cape Town and completed an executive programme at Columbia Business School.
