One of the most notorious unsolved US serial killer mysteries is re-explored in this three-part docuseries that focuses on the life of Arthur Leigh Allen, the only person ever named by police in their long investigation of the terrifying murders that occurred in California’s Bay Area in the late 1960s. Allen, who died in 1992, is remembered here by a variety of people who knew him at various stages of his life as a troubled man who did some questionable things before the time of the murders that many will feel point to him as the probable killer.

Family, their rivals and long-suffering indigenous leaders all want a piece of the Marianne pie. The stakes are high, the heat is fierce and there is plenty of action.
THE COMMANDANT’S SHADOW — SHOWMAX
The fictionalised life of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss proved to be rich material in director Jonathan Glazer’s Oscar-winning drama The Zone of Interest. It proves to be equally so for this powerful documentary in which Höss’ son, 87-year-old Hans Jürgen, makes a pilgrimage back to the terrible place where he grew up to confront the realities of what his father was involved in and the consequences for those who managed to survive. Featuring a rare and intimate meeting between Höss and one of the survivors of Auschwitz, it’s a film that makes an urgent and necessary appeal for reconciliation, compassion and humanity at a time when these values are once again needed if we are to have any hope of peaceful coexistence.

Thom Zimny’s documentary follows the hardest working man in rock and his dedicated partners in solid rocking live entertainment as they make good on that promise and help the Boss make sure he won’t stop giving the people of the world what they want “until the wheels fall off”.
