The Bentley Batur “Black Rose” is the latest creation by the Mulliner bespoke studio. The one-of-18 car and one of only three right-hand-drive Baturs is themed around the beauty of rose gold.

This car features exquisite and exclusive Black Rose metallic paintwork commissioned by Mulliner, with a gloss Beluga upper body. Satin rose gold accents adorn the front grille, mirror caps, lower body kit and 22" tritone wheels with carbon ceramic brakes with black calipers.

Inside are dark Beluga hides, veneers painted in Black Rose metallic paint and charcoal tweed fabrics punctuated only by the glint of rose gold.

In 2022, Bentley committed a total of £3-million (R71m) to converting 3D computer aided design (CAD) models into physical parts at its Crewe, UK plant.

In a world-first 3D printing technique by renowned goldsmiths Cooksongold, up to 210 grams of 18-karat rose gold have been adopted on driver touch points, including on the drive mode selector and organ stop vent controls on the dashboard.

A rose gold insert marker on the steering wheel is added, exemplifying the level of detailing on offer. All parts produced for the Batur are hallmarked in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter as a sign of having solid material authenticity.

Additionally, any parts manufactured in 2022 also receive the Jubilee hallmark, celebrating the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee year.

Mulliner operates as Bentley’s bespoke division. Its engineers breathe upon high-end derivatives of Bentley daily drivers, including the Continental and Bentayga series which will henceforth use hybridised V8 twin-turbo engines.

The department’s master craftsmen also offer Coachbuilt by Mulliner cars such as the Batur. These ultra-exclusive models are powered by the retired 6.0l W12 engines and restricted to just 18 examples, while the Batur convertible unveiled in May 2024 only has 16 build slots.

The other rarity that’s built by Mulliner is the Bacalar Barchetta from 2020. The roofless two-seat coupe features a modern wraparound cockpit and a semi-enclosed rear compartment for bespoke luggage from renowned Italian leather goods company Schedoni.

Just 12 Bentley Bacalars were designed, engineered and handcrafted to individual customers’ tastes.
