The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal will announce its premier candidate on Monday after the resignation of Sihle Zikalala.
Zikalala announced his resignation as premier on Friday. He failed to retain his position as provincial chair after losing out to Siboniso Duma during the party’s provincial elective conference two weeks ago.
Party secretary Bhekinkosi Mtolo said the announcement of the premier candidate will be made during a media briefing at 10am at the party’s provincial head office.
“After the resignation of premier Zikalala, the ANC KwaZulu-Natal will on Monday hold a media briefing. The ANC will during the session unveil its premier candidate,” said Mtolo.
Nomusa Dube-Ncube, Amanda Bani and Mbali Frazer are the three names the provincial leadership forwarded to national officials for interviews for the position of premier.
The interviews took place on Saturday.
