WATCH | Sars collects R2-trillion in tax, beating expectations

South Africa’s tax authority Sars has collected R2.01-trillion of tax in the fiscal year that ended on March 31, according to preliminary figures. This is 8.4% higher than the previous year and is R24.7bn more than what was forecast in the 2025 budget. Business Day TV spoke to Sars commissioner Edward Kieswetter for more insight.
