What does Triplo4 Sustainable Solutions do?

It provides a wide range of sustainability solutions.

The company provides environmental consultancy services for numerous projects in the public and private sectors, including residential housing developments (from low-income rural developments to high-end private estates); infrastructure development or upgrades, such as roads, pipelines and treatment works; and industrial projects.

We are also involved in waste management.

We have recognised the importance of community and animal welfare, so we conduct corporate social investment initiatives where we support programmes and projects such as the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife, and we also assist with churches' and orphanages’ charity drives.

I naturally care about people, our environment, and I was also blessed with an entrepreneurial appetite

What are your main tasks as MD?

To strategically direct all operations of the company to ensure continued success and growth through people and processes.

What are the main challenges facing your company?

A number of factors have affected businesses over a number of years, resulting in the decline in the economy and job creation as well as a loss of talent and continuity of business in general, including Triplo4.

I believe in the adage “it is not what happens to you that is important, but what you make of it”. A positive outlook and attitude, resilience and trust in God have helped and will continue to help the company to remain sustainable.

Why do we need sustainable solutions?

Sustainability is a concept that has been developed over many decades to provide an approach that allows society to live and meet their needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs.

There is interaction and interdependence between the environment and the resources it provides that power the economy and ensure society’s quality of life.

In simpler terms, people, planet and profit must be considered in developments to ensure a balanced approach to provide for present needs that sustain the economy and protect the environment.

What makes you good at what you do?

I believe this is my calling and God-given purpose. I naturally care about people, our environment, and I was also blessed with an entrepreneurial appetite. I love what I do. I am passionate about sustainability and the value Triplo4 Sustainable Solutions creates.

I am a fiercely loyal and driven leader and committed to transformation. I believe in the uniqueness and value of each individual and creating career and personal growth opportunities.

I am passionate about lifelong learning and encourage the team to expand their knowledge and skills, and become the leaders of the future.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

I wanted to own a cafe, and though my mother tried noble suggestions such as becoming a teacher or doing accounting, I held steadfast for many years.

I grew up in a small town. There were no chain stores and one went to the corner cafe for purchases, at which time we were allowed a small treat.

My parents worked a number of after-hour jobs, and wasting money on excess sweets was not on the list. My reason for owning a cafe was that I would be able to eat as many sweets as I wanted as the cafe would belong to me.

Looking back, I can recognise the entrepreneurial spirit in waiting.

What is the best career advice you have received?

Not everyone will think or feel the same way as you or value the things that matter to you. Follow your heart and dreams, and make a positive difference in the areas you are passionate about.
