Tell me about your job.
I lead a dynamic team responsible for driving sales performance, building lasting client relationships and growing the dealership’s footprint in the West Rand area. My role blends strategy with mentorship — I work closely with my team to ensure we meet and exceed our targets, while delivering a world-class customer experience. I view my position not just as a leadership title, but as a platform to empower others, create impact and redefine standards in the automotive industry.
What makes you good at your job?
I believe my strength lies in my people-first approach. My background in aviation and sales has taught me the value of communication, discipline and emotional intelligence (EQ). I focus on developing individuals, not just driving numbers. My team knows that their success is my priority, and that trust creates a powerful work ethic and environment.
What is the secret to selling a car?
The real secret is understanding the customer. You need to listen actively, respond to their true needs, and guide them through the process with honesty and professionalism. Selling a car isn’t just about closing a deal; it’s about building trust and delivering value. At Jetour, we emphasise VIP-style service that makes every customer feel seen, heard and confident in their purchase.
Have you faced challenges at work as a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry?
Absolutely. The automotive industry still has limited representation of women, especially black women. Earning respect often takes twice the effort, but I’ve learnt to lead with integrity, competence and resilience. I let my work speak for itself and use every challenge as an opportunity to shift perceptions. I’m also committed to mentoring other women in the industry, showing them that we not only belong here, but that we can thrive.
What do you look for when recruiting for your team?
I value passion, authenticity and EQ. Skills can be taught, but genuine enthusiasm, resilience and a customer-focused mindset are what truly make someone stand out. I foster a supportive, transparent environment where people can grow both personally and professionally.
What advice do you have for young people at the start of their careers?
Know your worth, understand your strengths — and never stop learning. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek guidance; there’s wisdom in humility. Set clear boundaries, stay true to your values and, most importantly, have fun while climbing the ladder. Every step is part of your story, so own it with pride.
