Ford has announced it will launch the facelifted Ford Territory in South Africa in the next few weeks.
A medium-sized SUV produced in China through the Ford-Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) joint venture, the Territory made its local debut in 2024 and sells in three variants priced from R594,500 to R734,000.
The midlife facelift sees the car getting redesigned front and rear bumpers with integrated fog lamps, L-shaped LED headlights, and teardrop-like LED daytime running lights extending into the lower front bumper. The front also sees a new thinner, black front grille.
The cabin also benefits from new finishes.
There are no changes to the size, with the 4,630mm length making the Territory a rival to SUVs such as the Toyota RAV4, Chery Tiggo 7 and Kia Sportage.
Power continues to be supplied by a 1.8l petrol turbo EcoBoost engine with outputs of 138kW and 318 Nm, paired with front-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. As before, the vehicle has generous specification levels including multiple drive modes, adaptive cruise control — on Trend and Titanium derivatives — and auto start-stop technology.
A panoramic sunroof, rotary gear shifter and 12.3-inch centre touchscreen with Ford Co-Pilot 360 driver assist tech — including Parking Assist — are also standard, along with a 12.3-inch configurable digital instrument cluster and wireless smartphone charging.
Ford app connectivity will be available, allowing owners to remotely interact with their vehicle via their smartphone.
Full specifications and pricing will be communicated when first deliveries take place in the coming weeks.
